Our History
The Vascular Surgical Society of Great Britain and Ireland was founded in 1966 by Professor Sol Cohen, London.
The Society changed its name to The Vascular Society in 2004 to reflect the increasing multi-disciplinary nature of its Members. At the same time, the Society took over the activities of the British Vascular Foundation (now known as the Circulation Foundation) as the fundraising arm of the Society.
The Society was granted separate specialty status in March 2012.
From 2019 the Society’s administration has been provided by Executive Business Support Ltd.
