Vascular Societies' Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 was held Virtually between 24th - 27th November 2020. The Meeting saw an over 1,000 attendees log onto the conference portal to watch live or after the event.
Hundreds of talks were given at this years scientific meeting throughout November. Delegates had to make tough decisions as to which sessions they would attend, and which they would have to catch-up with later.
Professor Chris Imray's Presidents symposium discussed supporting trainees through COVID-19, Functioinal Units and Human Factors. We also heard from Rachel Bell who spoke about the keys to recovery from and prevention of burnout.
The Vice President's symposium touched on what happened to the Aortic cases during COVID-19. We also heard from Mr Colin Bicknell on who should not have an EVAR and why.

Kinmoth Lecture
The 2020 Kinmonth Lecture was delivered by Professor Alun Davies, professor of vascular surgery at the Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and former President of Sections at Royal Society of Medicine. Professor Davies gave his talk on Venous disease – appliance of science to current treatment and future perspectives.
Hunterian Lecture
The 2020 Hunterian Lecture was delivered by Mr Athanasios Saratz, an associate Professor in Vascular Surgery. NIHR Advanced Fellow. NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre & Leicester Vascular Institute. Mr Saratzis gave his talk on Renal injury in major endovascular surgery.
Invited Vascular Society Lecture
The 2020 Invited Vascular Society Lecture was delivered by Professor Rob Sayers, a Professor on Vascular Surgery at the University of Liecester. Professor Sayers gave his talk on Avoiding amputation, limb salvage clinics and the challenges of COVID.
Edinburgh College Lecture
The new 2020 Edinburgh College Lecture was delivered by Professor Angus Watson is a Consultant General and Colorectal surgeon and is Director of Rsearch and Development at NHS Highland.
Professor Watson gave his talk on surgical synthetics making simulation more realistic.
